Nahshon Joshua

(born 1995) The Kansas City native received a B.F.A. from Kansas State in '20. There they became a two-time recipient of the Art Department Merit Scholarship. Nahshon double concentrated in Painting and Printmaking while minoring in Leadership Studies. During the Covid 19 pandemic, Nahshon moved to Seattle.
As a Figurative oil painter, they explore themes of Blackness, Queerness, Fantasy, and Spirituality. Using these 4 ingredients and a dynamic color palette, they reconstruct socio-political issues into new stories. Since the move, the artist has exhibited across the Emerald city while working at black arts community hub, ARTE NOIR.
